Officially licensed from Metal Blade Records, this limited edition reissue arrives on Solar Orange 2-LP Vinyl, housed in a stunning gatefold package—only 300 copies are being pressed, making this a true collector’s item. Mastered for vinyl by Rob Colwell (Coroner, King’s X, Nevermore), the full depth of the Cowboys' sound is brought to life with even greater warmth and clarity.

Produced by drummer Alan Doss, The Horse That Bud Bought blends progressive rock, metal, and deeply personal storytelling. The album title comes from a real-life event recounted by bassist Monty Colvin, whose family’s experience with a cult in Oregon inspires the lyrics of the song "Oregon." Colvin, who also creates the album’s striking cover art, infuses his unique artistic vision throughout.

This release includes standout tracks like “Tilt-A-Whirl,” which incorporates an actual recording of a carnival ride, and the haunting outro of “My Life,” which reimagines the band’s earlier song “Still Life of Peace” to the tune of The Beatles’ “Blue Jay Way.” "The Buzz" pays homage to a legendary Houston rock station, adding to the album’s nostalgic rock narrative.
